The Maryland Psychological Association is the only association in Maryland that provides advocacy for psychologists in the health care arena. However, our influence is only as great as our memberships is strong. In joining the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA) you add your strength, ideas, and funds to the cause of moving psychology forward in today’s society.
The membership application is for those who are new to MPA or former members whose membership lapsed for more than one year.
Those who have a doctoral degree and/or are licensed in Maryland. Non-Resident Affiliate category available for licensed psychologists who are not licensed in Maryland.
Associate & Affiliates
Associate: At least two years of graduate work or a Master’s degree that is psychological in nature.
Affiliate: Legitimate professional, educational or scientific interest in the field of psychology and who may not be eligible for any other level of membership, e.g. secondary school psychology teachers.
Non-Resident Affiliate: If you fit any of the above categories but don’t live or provide psychological services in Maryland, you may choose to apply for Non-Resident Affiliate status.
Graduate Students (MPAGS)
Students who are matriculated as psychology graduate students in a regionally accredited college or university, and interns or post-doctoral fellows may apply for student membership
